letters of the alphabet during the "Letter of the Week" activities. |
Our
major emphasis and goal within the preschool
is to provide a Christian, loving, interesting environment for three,
four & five year olds. Each day is structured around four major
"times":
Free Play Time, Circle Time, Bible Story Time and Snack Time.
During Bible Story Time, children will hear a Bible story about Jesus'
life or special stories from the New Testament. Parents are informed of
the Bible story and any additional themes each week.
Free Play time provides children with an opportunity to choose what
they would like to do each day. We emphasize learning through play
during this time through these areas:
Sensory Table
Area
Blocks and Gross Motor Area
Creative Arts Area
Dramatic Play Area
Fine Motor Area
Reading Area |

In
addition, structured learning time is provided
through Circle Time. This is a Special time where children learn many
songs and verses. They hear flannelgraph stories and learn new
cognitive lessons. Mrs. Karen introduces
songs and movement activites to music. Children also participate in
calendar activities that assist them in recognizing and ordering
numerals.
A nutritious snack is provided each school day.
Parents voluntarily bring a nutruitious snack for their child and the
other children on a rotating calendar basis. At the end of the snack, a
book is read to the children. Daily reading to children is very
important to help a child build vocabulary and pre-reading readiness
skills. |
